Generation history
Infiniti QX50 generations and next redesign.
The Infiniti QX50 has been through 2 generations, starting in 2007 and 2017. The gaps were 10 years, an average of 10.0. The pace has been steady. The current generation began in 2017. On that cadence the next full redesign points to 2026 through 2028, centered on 2027. This is a projection. It comes from the model's own past redesign years, not from the manufacturer. A mid-cycle refresh usually lands in between. Public records describe the current generation this way: The production version of the second-generation QX50 was presented at the 2017 LA Auto Show as a 2019 model with a turbocharged 2.0 L KR20DDET gasoline engine using Nissan's VC-T variable compression ratio system. Specifications, trims and the NHTSA safety record are on the Infiniti QX50 model page.
