2025 BMW 3 Series
The 2025 BMW 3 Series gets only minor updates: a redesigned steering wheel, new colors, wheel options and interior appointments, with the same curved display of a 12.3-inch cluster and 14.9-inch screen. The 330i starts at $47,125. NHTSA lists one recall, a loose starter-generator connection, and four complaints; Consumer Reports rates the year less reliable than average. EPA rates it 29 to 31 mpg combined.
What changed on the 2025 BMW 3 Series
BMW Blog (opens in a new tab) says that other than a redesigned steering wheel not much changes for 2025, with minor updates over 2024 including new colors, wheel options and interior appointments, and the curved display with a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 14.9-inch central screen carried over. BMW's press release (opens in a new tab) lists new 19-inch M alloy wheels on some models and the Personal eSIM as standard. J.D. Power (opens in a new tab) notes the substantial refresh came in 2022 and that the next 3 Series, part of BMW's Neue Klasse rollout, is all-new and goes on sale in the first quarter of 2027.
Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) lists the cheapest 2025 3 Series, the 330i, at a starting sticker price of $47,125 and a Fair Purchase Price of $43,400, with 26/34 to 28/35 mpg city and highway.
Recalls and problems owners report
NHTSA lists one recall campaign for the 2025 3 Series, 25V202000, in which the electrical connection between the starter-generator and the battery may come loose; dealers inspect and replace the starter-generator and positive battery cable as necessary. It is shared with the 5 Series, 4 Series and X3. Owners have filed four complaints, one each about tires, visibility and wipers, back-over prevention and the electrical system.
Consumer Reports (opens in a new tab) rates the 2025 3 Series less reliable than other cars from the same model year, which is worth weighing against the thin complaint record.
2025 3 Series against the A4, C-Class and G70
EPA rates the 2025 3 Series at 29 to 31 mpg combined and $2,500 to $2,650 a year in fuel. The 2025 Audi A4 rates 26 to 29 at $2,650 to $3,000, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class 20 to 29 at $2,650 to $3,900 and the Genesis G70 19 to 24 at $3,250 to $4,100. On EPA figures the 3 Series is the most efficient and cheapest to fuel of the four, and the A4 is the only one sold solely with all-wheel drive.
