What changed on the 2020 BMW X2
Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) says the standard 6.5-inch infotainment display of 2019 gave way to the formerly optional 8.8-inch unit, with navigation now standard across the lineup, and lists a 228-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive as the standard powertrain shared with the X1. MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) adds 18-inch alloy wheels, SensaTec leatherette, power front seats, a power tailgate and parking sensors as standard, and U.S. News (opens in a new tab) lists Apple CarPlay, HD Radio and a seven-speaker stereo.
Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) puts used 2020 X2 prices at $18,550 for the xDrive28i to $22,200 for the M35i at a dealership, and rates fuel economy at 23/30 to 24/32 mpg city and highway. Recalls and problems owners report
NHTSA lists one recall campaign for the 2020 X2, 20V283000, which covers 2020 X1 and X2 xDrive28i and sDrive28i models and certain Mini vehicles. A problem with the rollover sensor inside the air bag control unit means that in a rollover crash the head air bag and seat belt pretensioners may not deploy, and BMW replaces the control unit free of charge. Owners have filed 2 complaints with NHTSA, one about air bags and one unclassified, and Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) keeps a common-problems page for the year.
