2024 Buick Envista

Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) calls the Envista an all-new nameplate for Buick, with a starting price under $25,000 that includes an 8.0-inch digital gauge display, automatic high beams, lane-keeping assist and an 11.0-inch touchscreen, and notes the drawbacks of poky acceleration and no all-wheel-drive option. MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) says it shares the Encore GX's Virtual Cockpit, an 8.0-inch driver display and 11.0-inch center screen under one piece of glass, and achieves 30 mpg combined.

Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) puts used 2024 Envistas at $21,300 for the Preferred up to $24,500 for the Avenir from a dealer. EPA lists 30 mpg combined and $2,100 a year in fuel, with front-wheel drive only.

NHTSA lists two recall campaigns for the 2024 Envista. 23V744000, from November 2023, covers Virtual Cockpit software that may make the instrument panel display intermittently go blank, fixed by a dealer or over-the-air update. 26V539000, from August 2026, covers a rearview camera screen that may display a distorted or blank image, with dealers replacing the camera if necessary.

Owners have filed 55 complaints: electrical system with 31, unknown or other with 17, engine with 8, vehicle speed control with 6, service brakes with 5 and forward collision avoidance with 4. EPA rates the 2024 Envista at 30 mpg combined and $2,100 a year in fuel, the same as its Chevrolet Trax sibling. The Hyundai Kona lists 26 to 118 at $650 to $2,400 because it includes an electric version, the Kia Seltos 26 to 31 at $2,000 to $2,400, and the Nissan Kicks 33 at $1,900. The Kicks at 33 and the Seltos at up to 31 beat it.
