Recalls and problems owners report

NHTSA lists six recall campaigns for the 2025 Equinox. 24V737000 covers 2025 Blazer, Blazer EV and Equinox vehicles whose door strikers were not properly heat-treated and can break, and dealers replace all four side door strikers and bolts. Most of the rest concern the Equinox EV: 24V925000 covers a pedestrian alert sound system that may not be loud enough, 25V012000 covers adaptive cruise control that may fail to engage the brakes because of brake module software, and 25V704000 covers 21-inch Continental tires on Equinox EV and Cadillac Optiq vehicles.

Owners have filed 391 complaints with NHTSA, 228 on the Equinox and 163 on the Equinox EV: visibility and wiper with 108, electrical system with 93, unknown or other with 75, forward collision avoidance with 73 and service brakes with 48. ProblemsByVin (opens in a new tab) counts 227 on the Equinox name alone, and Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) keeps a common-problems page for the year.
