Car and Driver, covering VinFast's U.S. lineup of the VF8 and VF9, says a pair of smaller SUVs, the VF6 and VF7, is reportedly in the works for the United States, meaning the VF6 sold in other markets is not yet confirmed for U.S. sale. Autocar India, reviewing the VF6 abroad, says its curvy design looks more hatchback than SUV and makes it look smaller than it is, with the machined 18-inch alloys on the top-spec Wind Infinity trim deliberately avoiding the flat, aero-efficient look for something sportier, and material quality that's exceptional despite the minimalist dashboard, with many components including door handles, stalks, and window switches borrowed from last-generation BMWs through a past VinFast technical partnership with the German brand. Top Gear Philippines says the VF6 is aimed at rivals like the BYD Dolphin and MG 4, calling it not a game-changer but potentially VinFast's turning point, with fit and finish only average at best and some panel gaps observed.
