Generation history
Chevrolet Traverse Generations & Next Redesign
Verified full-redesign years: 2009, 2018, 2024 (1st gen 2009-2017, 2nd gen 2018-2023 with a 2022 mid-cycle refresh, 3rd gen 2024-present). Redesign gaps: 9 years, then 6 years: average 7.5 years, but on only 2 data points, so this average carries low confidence. A mid-cycle refresh is reported (not OEM-confirmed) for MY2028, which would land at year 5 of this generation: consistent with the 2018-gen's own refresh timing (year 5, MY2022). This is generation 3 (C1), on sale since 2024, with no end year announced. The next redesign is estimated at 2028 (mid-cycle refresh, not a full redesign), computed from this model's own past redesign cadence and never a manufacturer announcement. The 2027 Traverse lineup spans 4 published trims (LT, RS, Z71, High Country), offered with FWD / AWD drivetrains and 328 horsepower, topping out at 5,000 lb of towing.

The 2027 Traverse carries over its 328-horsepower turbo four-cylinder, 8-speed automatic and 5,000 lb tow rating unchanged, with a real update to the High Country trim: a new badge design, Tritan Satin grille and headlamp accents, 22-inch high-gloss black wheels, and a Jet Black/Natural Tan interior with real wood decor. New for every 2027 trim: an interior camera with 'Cabin Glance' (a live view of the second/third rows on the center screen), plus Surround Vision Recorder and Security Recording (save footage to a USB drive).

When is the next redesign?
Estimated 2028 (mid-cycle refresh, not a full redesign).
GM Authority reports a refresh for MY2028: year 5 of this generation, matching the 2018-generation's own refresh timing (also year 5, MY2022). A FULL ground-up redesign is not expected in 2028; on the 2-data-point historical cadence (7.5-year average, low confidence: see generation.note), the next full redesign would fall closer to 2031-2032. Autoblog separately frames 2028 as the nameplate's '20th anniversary': a marketing hook, not evidence of scope.
The model's own past redesign years drive this estimate. No manufacturer has announced it.
