Carvana (opens in a new tab) calls 2022 the fourth model year of the second generation (2019 to 2024) and a pre-refresh equipment-update year, with the newer MIB 3 touchscreen system standard across the lineup. MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) says the subcompact luxury SUV receives a host of new standard features, including blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and Audi Parking System Plus, on top of the standard 8.8-inch touchscreen and 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

Recalls and problems owners report
NHTSA lists five recall campaigns for the 2022 Q3. Three concern the rearview image: 21V825000 and 22V064000 are software errors that may keep the image from displaying when the car begins to reverse, and 22V806000 covers an infotainment main unit that may be damaged internally when the car is shut off, leaving the camera display inoperative at the next start. The others are 22V673000, where the vent pipe inside the fuel tank may have been damaged during assembly (dealers inspect it and replace the charcoal canister as needed), and 22V701000, a window manufacturing error that may allow the rear window to crack or break. Consumer Reports notes a further recall for Q3s that failed to receive the 21V-825 software update.
Owners have filed 33 complaints with NHTSA: electrical system with 9, fuel and propulsion system and back over prevention with 8 each, unknown or other with 5 and lane departure with 4, and CarFactBase (opens in a new tab) reports the same 33. Consumer Reports (opens in a new tab) rates the 2022 Q3 less reliable than other cars from the same model year.
