2024 Audi Q8 e-tron

Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) says Audi gave the SUVs a styling refresh with a redesigned grille, restyled lighting and updated wheels, in two body styles, the standard Q8 e-tron and the fastback Sportback, with standard driver-assistance technology and available adaptive cruise control and self-parking assist. MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) notes every Q8 e-tron has all-wheel drive as standard, although the way the four wheels are driven differs across the range, and Electric Has Gone Audi (opens in a new tab) adds that the new car comes standard with adaptive air suspension with shock-absorber control.

The refresh is the moment Audi renamed the e-tron as the Q8 e-tron; MotorTrend headlined its first look as a new name with more range. EPA rates the 2024 Q8 e-tron at 81 to 87 MPGe with 285 to 300 miles of range and an annual fuel cost of $900 to $950.

NHTSA lists four recall campaigns for the 2024 Q8 e-tron. 23V868000 covers a driver's seat side air bag that may have been improperly mounted to the seatback frame, and 24V251000 an electrical connection in the front passenger seat that may loosen and deactivate the front passenger air bag by disabling the occupant detection system. 24V428000 covers a brake line connection that may have been over-tightened and fail, causing a brake-fluid leak and reduced braking, and 25V900000 is a rear-visibility software update.

Owners have filed 23 complaints with NHTSA: electrical system with 12, service brakes with 8, forward collision avoidance with 4, and vehicle speed control and unknown or other with 3 each.

Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) lists used 2024 Q8 e-tron prices from $36,100 for the Premium to $45,183 for the Launch Edition at a dealership, with trade-in values of about $28,400 to $35,700 and private-party values of about $33,300 to $43,300 depending on body style and trim.

EPA rates the 2024 Q8 e-tron at 81 to 87 MPGe with 285 to 300 miles at $900 to $950 a year. The 2024 Tesla Model X rates 90 to 100 MPGe with 300 to 335 miles at $750 to $850, and the BMW iX 80 to 86 MPGe with 217 to 307 miles at $900 to $950. On EPA figures the Model X is the most efficient and has the longest range of the three, and the Q8 e-tron matches the iX on efficiency with a narrower range spread.
