BMW 4 Series
Car and Driver says the 2025 BMW 4-series coupe and convertible received a modest makeover with new grille designs, revised headlights and taillights, and a powertrain upgrade making hybrid assistance standard on both the 430i and M440i, with the M440i's turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six gaining up to 11 hp from a 48-volt starter-generator, raising its peak to 386 hp against 382 hp for the previous nonhybrid version. The 2026 4-series carries over virtually unchanged, with the same 12.3-inch gauge display and 14.9-inch infotainment display as the 3-series sedan, running BMW's iDrive 8.5 software with a more intuitive map interface for 2026. The related 4-Series Gran Coupe has an electric clone, the BMW i4, with up to 592 horsepower and up to 318 miles of driving range.

The electric sibling

MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) says the 2026 i4 eDrive35 and eDrive40 models will gain some modest range, perhaps 10 or so miles, thanks to new silicon carbide semiconductor components in the inverters.
