2020 Chrysler Voyager
The 2020 Chrysler Voyager is a new name for the lower Pacifica trims, a front-drive minivan with a 287-horsepower 3.6-liter V6, nine-speed automatic, seating for seven and a 7-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. NHTSA lists one recall, for a side curtain air bag connector, and 13 complaints. Used ones run $12,300 to $14,800 at dealers per Kelley Blue Book.
What the 2020 Chrysler Voyager is
The Drive (opens in a new tab) reports that Chrysler renamed the base Pacifica L and LX trims as the Voyager for 2020, positioned between the long-running Dodge Grand Caravan and the Pacifica it is based on. It has a 287-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with a nine-speed automatic driving the front wheels only, and seats seven.
The Car Guide (opens in a new tab) describes the L with manual climate control, a second-row bench and cloth seats, and the LX adding captain's chairs, a power driver's seat and SiriusXM, both with a 7-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) says its price undercuts the Pacifica by over $6,500 and puts used 2020 Voyagers at $12,300 for the L up to $14,800 for the LX from a dealer.
Recalls and problems owners report
NHTSA lists one recall campaign for the 2020 Voyager. 24V793000, from October 2024, covers 2020-2023 Pacificas and 2020-2021 and 2023 Voyagers with an improperly secured side curtain air bag connector that may prevent the air bags from deploying.
Owners have filed 13 complaints: engine with 6, steering with 4, electrical system with 2, and back over prevention, seats and service brakes with 1 each.
2020 Voyager against the Sienna, Odyssey and Pacifica
EPA rates the 2020 Voyager at 22 mpg combined and $2,850 a year in fuel, the same as the Honda Odyssey. The Toyota Sienna lists 20 to 21 at $2,950 to $3,100, and the Chrysler Pacifica 20 to 30 at $2,100 to $3,100 because it includes a plug-in hybrid. The Voyager is the cheaper front-drive minivan to buy and ties the Odyssey to run.
