What changed on the 2020 Dodge Charger
Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) lists three new paint colors for 2020, Frostbite, Hellraisin and Sinamon, and notes that every Charger shares an eight-speed automatic and standard rear-wheel drive, with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on a 7.0- or 8.4-inch touchscreen, though not every Charger has a Hemi V-8. Torque News (opens in a new tab) says the GT gets standard 20-by-8-inch Satin Carbon wheels, the R/T gets the same wheels as its only change apart from package shuffles, and the GT's Performance Handling Group is updated.
MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) lists fuel economy of 19/30 mpg city and highway for the standard rear-drive V-6 and a standard 7.0-inch instrument display on all trims. EPA rates the 2020 Charger at 15 to 23 mpg combined and $2,700 to $5,150 a year in fuel.
Recalls and problems owners report
NHTSA lists three recall campaigns for the 2020 Charger. 20V512000 covers a backup camera image that does not display in reverse when stealth mode is selected, 21V516000 a windshield that may not have been properly bonded during manufacturing and could detach in a crash, and 24V198000 side curtain air-bag inflators that may rupture because of a manufacturing defect, for which dealers replace both side curtain air bags. Owners have filed 57 complaints with NHTSA: air bags with 36, unknown or other with 10, and electrical system and engine with 6 each.
