Ferrari Daytona SP3

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a limited-production mid-engine sports car with an 840-metric-horsepower V12, built at Maranello for the 2023 to 2025 model years and limited to 599 standard units. RM Sotheby's says every unit was spoken for by a dedicated VIP client before production began, and a one-off 2025 Tailor Made example beyond that run sold at auction for $26 million, the highest price ever paid for a new Ferrari, benefiting the Ferrari Foundation.

What the Ferrari Daytona SP3 is

Wikipedia (opens in a new tab) describes the Daytona SP3 (Type F251) as a limited-production, mid-engine sports car unveiled 20 November 2021 for the 2023 model year, the latest in Ferrari's Icona series, related to the 812 Superfast and LaFerrari Aperta, with butterfly doors, a targa-top body, a 6.5-liter F140 HC V12 rated at 840 PS and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, built at Maranello through the 2025 model year.

Production and price

RM Sotheby's (opens in a new tab) says the Daytona SP3 was limited to just 599 standard production units worldwide, and each example was spoken for by one of Ferrari's most dedicated VIP clients before production even began. Hyper.luxe (opens in a new tab) puts the MSRP at $2.34 million with asking prices from $4.8 million to $6.2 million, cautioning that these are asking prices and private-market indications, not necessarily completed transactions, since public auction results remain too limited to establish a definitive, transaction-based value.

The record auction car

Ferrari (opens in a new tab) says a one-of-one 2025 Tailor Made Daytona SP3, commissioned as an additional example beyond the 599-unit limited-series production run, sold for $26 million at a charity auction with RM Sotheby's at Monterey, California, setting a new world record as the highest-priced new Ferrari ever sold at auction, with proceeds benefiting the Ferrari Foundation's global educational initiatives. Hyper.luxe notes this car is a separate case and not a guide to the value of a standard SP3. See the 2023 and 2025 Daytona SP3 pages for specifications.

Background and safety record

What public sources say about the Ferrari Daytona SP3.

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 (Type F251) is a limited production mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Ferrari, unveiled on 20 November 2021 for the 2023 model year. The Daytona SP3 is the latest in the "Icona" series of high-performance cars being produced by Ferrari after the Ferrari Monza SP series. 599 examples were to be built from 2022 and sold for $2.25 million each.

Design
The design of the SP3 references 1960s race cars, with the Daytona SP3 having a characteristic aerodynamically optimized design that blends elements of Ferrari's historic styling with cues from current models. The low-set, wraparound windscreen is a link to the P3/4, while the "double-crested" front wings nod to sports prototypes like the 512 S, 712 Can-Am, and 312 P.
Specifications
The engine is a naturally aspirated 6.5 L Ferrari F140 HC V12, which has a redline of 9500 rpm. It generates 840 PS (618 kW; 829 hp) at 9250 rpm and 697 N⋅m of torque at 7250 rpm.
Chassis
The SP3 bodywork sits on the LaFerrari Aperta chassis, with carbon fiber used for the shell, chassis and certain bodywork elements. The car weighs 1,485 kg dry, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 566 PS per ton, while the mid-engined layout allows optimized weight distribution between the axles.
Performance
The SP3 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.85 seconds, 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.4 seconds, and can reach a top speed of more than 340 km/h (211 mph). Its timing around Ferrari's Fiorano test track remains untested, with the SF90 being the current fastest car.
Interior
The SP3 consists of an all-new minimalistic ergonomic interior with a carbon fiber dashboard with an Alcantara finish on top and a LED display system for data and telemetry. Touch controls mean that drivers can control 80% of the Daytona SP3's functions without moving their hands, while a 16" curved HD screen instantly relays driving-related information.
