Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) says Rivian has axed the least-expensive Dual Motor Standard Pack trim from the lineup, effectively raising its starting price by $7,000. Rivian has also fiddled with the R1T's trim naming scheme for 2027: the previous Dual-Motor trim is now called Premium, and the Tri-Motor model has been renamed to Performance, while the top-dog Quad carries on without a name change; despite their new titles, performance figures remain the same across the board. Rivian has also added a new standard tire package to the R1T lineup that pairs new 20-inch wheels with Goodyear all-season tires, which the company claims gives the R1T some additional off-road ability without hampering range.
