Fuel economy and range

Use the rating for the exact powertrain and drivetrain.

A model family can carry gas, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains with different EPA records. Wheel, drivetrain and body differences can create additional ratings. This topic covers 3 areas: match the EPA configuration, do not mix MPG and mpge, label manufacturer estimates, drawn from 870 published answers across 435 vehicle records, each one linking back to its own source trail and model-year note instead of a generalized model-level claim. Sourcing starts with FuelEconomy.gov and Vehicle manufacturer records and Glossary: terms used on this page, and 6 related answer topics covering fuel economy and powertrain are linked below for the adjacent decisions this one usually sits next to. Every one of these 870 answers is cross-referenced from its own full vehicle record rather than treated as a standalone claim, so a reader can verify the exact configuration before relying on it.
