What the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker is
AutoGuide calls the new-for-2026 Trailseeker an all-electric midsize SUV that offers more than you might expect. It describes it as essentially an elongated version of the Solterra electric SUV, which is itself a rebadged version of the Toyota bZ, with more conventional exterior styling, and says the changes provide more cargo space than the Solterra: up to 31.3 cubic feet behind the second-row seat and 74.0 cubic feet with the 60/40-split rear backrest folded, against 30.4 and 71 for the Solterra.
Recalls and owner reports
NHTSA lists no recalls on the 2026 Trailseeker so far. CarFactBase (opens in a new tab) counts 16 owner complaints, no recalls and no published NHTSA overall rating, and Kelley Blue Book has too little repair data to list common problems yet. The Solterra it is based on is the useful guide: its 2023 model was recalled four times, twice over wheel hub bolts, and Consumer Reports rated it less reliable than its peers, so ask the dealer whether the Trailseeker's hub bolts and software are the current versions.
