What the 2025 Tesla Model 3 changed
Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) says the updates to the Model 3 helped it to a spot on its 10Best list. U.S. News (opens in a new tab) drove the updated car and says this 'Highland' version feels built to a higher standard, from interior fit and finish to how it rides, with improved ride comfort and added amenities such as ventilated front seats. For a used-car shopper the significance is that a 2025 is a different car from the 2020 to 2023 models with the same name.
Recalls on the 2025 Model 3
NHTSA lists three recalls, and Consumer Reports (opens in a new tab) confirms the count. 25V690 is the one to ask about: the battery pack contactors may fail, causing a loss of drive power, and it covers 2025 Model 3 and 2026 Model Y vehicles. 25V002 says the computer circuit board may short, resulting in the loss of the rearview camera image and other functions across 2024 to 2025 Model 3, Model S, Model X and Model Y. 24V935 concerns the tire pressure monitoring warning on 2017 to 2025 Model 3s and other Tesla models. Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) lacks enough repair-order data to list common problems yet. Confirm all three recalls are shown as completed on the VIN.
What a 2025 Model 3 costs
Kelley Blue Book's base prices on this site's data are $36,270 for the Standard, $44,130 for the Long Range RWD, $49,130 for the Long Range AWD and $56,630 for the Performance. CarBuzz (opens in a new tab) lists the Long Range RWD at a $42,490 MSRP and the Long Range AWD at $47,490 and averages $37,251 across 1,103 marketplace listings, which is close to the Standard's base price, so a nearly new Long Range costs about what a new Standard does. The EPA's 109 to 137 MPGe and $550 to $700 a year in electricity on fueleconomy.gov (opens in a new tab) are what it costs to fuel.
