Aston Martin Vantage

CarTimeline lists the redesigned Aston Martin Vantage at 656 hp from its 4.0-liter V8 across the 2024-2026 model years, with the Vantage S variant tuned up to 670 hp. Car and Driver says Aston Martin took a similar approach with the 2026 Vantage S, implementing subtle upgrades to elevate the already enthralling Vantage to a new level of driver engagement, focusing on precise chassis changes to improve handling and feedback rather than chasing a stratospheric power output or lap records. MotorTrend says the 2026 Vantage S promises to be the peak of sports car performance.

Background and safety record

What public sources say about the Aston Martin Vantage.

Aston Martin has used the Vantage name on a number of vehicles, normally indicating a high-performance version of another model. In one case, from 1972–1973, the Vantage was a distinct model, being a straight-6 powered version of the DBS, a car that had been launched as a straight-6 but was by that time V8-powered (as the DBS V8). Despite the Vantage nameplate, the 1972–1973 Vantage was in reality the least powerful model in the manufacturer's range at the time.

Q01Is there a best year to buy a Aston Martin Vantage?

Federal recall records don't single out a best Aston Martin Vantage model year: recall counts across the 3 published model years checked here stay within a normal range of this nameplate's own average (about 1.7 recalls per year), with no year standing out as notably higher or lower. Recall count is one input, not a purchase verdict. It says nothing about a specific vehicle's price, mileage, accident history or maintenance record.

Q02What are common recall-related problems on the Aston Martin Vantage by model year?

2025: engine cooling, backup camera. 2020: airbags. 2019: airbags.
