What the Lucid Gravity is
Wikipedia (opens in a new tab) describes the Gravity as a mid-size luxury crossover SUV from Lucid Motors, in production since 2024 at Casa Grande, Arizona, model years 2025 onward, related to the Lucid Air, with batteries of 88, 93, 112 or 118 kWh, rear-motor, dual-motor or tri-motor layouts, and up to 450 miles of range. EV Care (opens in a new tab) lists the 450-mile EPA range as the longest of any SUV in production and 400 kW DC charging as industry-leading, and calls it best for luxury SUV buyers wanting range, fast charging and an optional seven-seat layout.
Trims, prices and model years
Kelley Blue Book base prices for the 2026 Gravity are $81,550 for the Touring, $96,550 for the Grand Touring and $141,550 for the Dream Edition, and the EPA rates it at 90 to 111 mpg-equivalent, about $700 to $850 a year in fuel. Motor Trend (opens in a new tab) says the Gravity debuted last year with the Grand Touring trim and that the more affordable Touring will probably feature a smaller battery. The 2025 Gravity is the launch year.
Recalls and ride
Federal data lists 2 recalls on the 2025, covering the backup camera and seats, and 3 on the 2026 so far, covering seats and the backup camera. VinSpectorAI (opens in a new tab) counts 14 complaints on the 2026 and names it the worst year by complaints, but with only two model years on record that ranking has little to compare. Motor Trend adds that large 21- and 22-inch wheels compromise ride comfort, transmitting more road harshness than expected in a luxury SUV.

Method: recall counts and their affected components come from the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation: Recalls API, queried by exact make, model and model year. Complaint counts come from the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation: Complaints API, same query pattern. Data pulled 2026-09-04.
Known gap: the NHTSA complaints API did not return data for Lucid Gravity model year 2026 when queried for this page: the request itself failed upstream, not returning a genuine zero. Those years are marked "not available" above instead of shown as clean; recall counts for those years are unaffected and come from the separate recalls API, which returned data for every year listed.

Q01Is there a best year to buy a Lucid Gravity?
Federal recall records don't single out a best Lucid Gravity model year: recall counts across the 2 published model years checked here stay within a normal range of this nameplate's own average (about n/a recalls per year), with no year standing out as notably higher or lower. Recall count is one input, not a purchase verdict. It says nothing about a specific vehicle's price, mileage, accident history or maintenance record.
Q02What are common recall-related problems on the Lucid Gravity by model year?
2026: seats, backup camera. 2025: backup camera, seats.
Q03Why do some Lucid Gravity model years show "not available" for complaints?
The NHTSA complaints API did not return data for Lucid Gravity model year 2026 when queried for this page: the request itself failed upstream instead of the count genuinely being zero. Recall counts for those years are unaffected; they come from a separate NHTSA endpoint that returned data for every year listed.
