2024 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) says the C 300 sedan gets parking sensors, a wireless smartphone charging pad and satellite radio as standard for 2024, that the S-Class-style steering wheel and a long list of standard luxury features such as heated memory front seats, a sunroof and open-pore wood trim carry over, and that the coupe and convertible are discontinued and replaced by the new CLE-Class. MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) adds that a few new standard features arrive and the AMG C 63 E Performance joins the lineup, though some enthusiasts decry the added complexity of its turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain.

U.S. News (opens in a new tab) traces the generation: the C-Class was fully redesigned for 2022 with new styling, an updated base engine and a new infotainment system, and standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital cluster, an 11.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and three USB-C ports. KBB lists fuel economy from 23/33 to 26/36 mpg city and highway, and EPA rates the 2024 C-Class at 23 to 30 mpg combined and $2,600 to $3,350 a year in fuel.

NHTSA lists three recall campaigns for the 2024 C-Class, 24V115000 on fuse and circuit breaker wiring shared with other Mercedes models, 23V880000 on a fuel pump that may shut down and cause a loss of drive power, and 25V253000 on a driver-side seat belt cover that may not be properly installed on the seat belt tensioner, and 15 owner complaints: electrical system with 5, service brakes and unknown or other with 4 each, engine with 3 and air bags with 2. Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) lists the cheapest 2024 C-Class, the C 300 sedan, at a Fair Purchase Price of $33,600, with trade-in values of about $26,300 to $29,200 and private-party values of about $31,500 to $33,800 for the C 300, and higher figures of about $38,300 to $55,700 for the AMG versions.

EPA rates the 2024 C-Class at 23 to 30 mpg combined and $2,600 to $3,350 a year in fuel. The 2024 BMW 3 Series rates 26 to 29 at $2,650 to $3,000, the Audi A4 26 to 30 at $2,600 to $3,000, the Genesis G70 23 to 24 at $3,250 to $3,350 and the Volvo S60 28 to 31 at $2,500 to $2,750. On EPA figures the C-Class is slightly less efficient than the 3 Series, A4 and S60 and level with the G70 at its low end.
