What changed on the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class

Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) says the GLE receives few changes, with automatic high-beam headlamps now standard and new two-tone Espresso Brown-and-black or white-and-black leather schemes, and that the GLE450 brings standard all-wheel drive and a 362-hp hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged inline-six and a 48-volt electrical system. It also notes that BMW and Volvo include three years of maintenance on a new X5 or XC90 while Mercedes offers none. Carvana (opens in a new tab) calls it the third year of the second generation and the final pre-refresh year before the broader 2024 update.

CarsDirect (opens in a new tab) adds a new silver paint and several features, such as multi-contour seats with massage, that can now be ordered individually. EPA rates the 2022 GLE-Class at 16 to 22 mpg combined and $3,500 to $4,850 a year in fuel, with rear-, all- or four-wheel drive.
