Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 4-Door Coupe

Car and Driver says the Mercedes-AMG GT lineup consists of two largely unrelated models: one with two doors based on the SL roadster and another with four doors based on the old E63 S sedan, not so creatively named the GT 4-Door, offered as the GT43, GT53, GT63, and GT63 S E Performance, with the GT43 offering 362 ponies from a turbocharged inline-six and the GT63 S E Performance churning out 830 horsepower from a twin-turbo V-8-based plug-in-hybrid powertrain, all with standard all-wheel drive. MotorTrend says the GT 4-Door Coupe is a grand tourer to the core, spectacularly fast in a straight line but not a track-day superstar, with handling that's planted and predictable even though it's impossible to hide the car's considerable weight in the corners, facing off against the Audi RS7, BMW 8-Series Gran Coupe, and Porsche Panamera, and in MotorTrend's track testing the base GT43 did the 0-60 sprint in 4.3 seconds while the tuned GT53 took 4.1 seconds.

A genuinely new, all-electric four-door nameplate on Mercedes' AMG.EA architecture: unrelated to the gas two-door AMG GT sports coupe (see mb-amg-gt) despite reusing the GT name. GT 53 is the dual-motor entry point at 536 hp with a synthesized inline-six soundtrack; GT 55 and GT 63 use three axial-flux motors for 805 hp and 1,153 hp respectively, the latter Mercedes' most powerful production model.
