What changed on the 2025 Porsche Cayenne

Porsche (opens in a new tab) says the model-year 2024 E3.2 generation, introduced in mid-2023, brought a new interior, updated powertrains and new standard features, and that for 2025 a number of new standard features and options are introduced, all 21- and 22-inch wheels are available in a Turbonite finish, the optional Premium Package Plus for the Cayenne and Cayenne E-Hybrid now includes HD-Matrix Design LED headlights, and the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid gets Turbonite exterior and interior elements.

The same release adds the Cayenne GTS SUV and Cayenne GTS Coupe to the U.S. lineup with a 493-horsepower twin-turbo V-8, a performance-focused suspension with two-chamber, two-valve air shocks, a water-cooled all-wheel-drive system, 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels, and an interior with Race-Tex trim and a heated GT Sport steering wheel. Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) lists the Base at a starting sticker price of $86,695 and a Fair Purchase Price of $79,000. EPA rates the 2025 Cayenne at 17 to 22 mpg combined and $3,500 to $4,550 a year in fuel, with 24 to 29 miles of electric range on the plug-in.

Recalls and problems owners report

NHTSA lists two recall campaigns for the 2025 Cayenne. 25V634000 covers 2024 to 2026 Panamera and Cayenne models whose high-pressure fuel pump fasteners may not be tightened properly, causing a fuel leak, for which dealers tighten the connections and replace the pump and lines as necessary, and 25V896000 is a rear-visibility software campaign covering several Porsche models. Owners have filed 6 complaints with NHTSA for the 2025 model year: forward collision avoidance with 5, back over prevention with 2, and electrical system, service brakes, lane departure and fuel and propulsion system with 1 each. Au7o (opens in a new tab) lists coolant pipe failure between the cylinder banks, air-suspension compressor and strut failure and timing-chain stretch among the known issues across Cayenne generations, which are history from earlier cars rather than findings on this year.

2025 Cayenne against the X5, Q8, GLE and RX

EPA rates the 2025 Cayenne at 17 to 22 mpg combined. The 2025 BMW X5 rates 15 to 25 at $3,100 to $5,150 with 39 miles of electric range, the Audi Q8 19 at $4,100, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 16 to 23 at $3,350 to $4,850 with 50 miles of electric range and the Lexus RX 24 to 36 at $2,150 to $3,250 with 37 miles. On EPA figures the Cayenne is in line with the German rivals, the GLE plug-in has the longest electric range, and the RX, with its hybrid, is the most efficient.
