2015 Toyota Camry

The 2015 Toyota Camry is a sweeping mid-cycle refresh of the seventh generation: nearly all-new bodywork, a quieter cabin, a new sporty XSE grade, a 4.2-inch display between the gauges and revised steering, suspension and brakes, with the four-cylinder, V-6 and hybrid carried over. NHTSA lists one recall, for the power-steering control unit, and 286 complaints led by steering. Used prices start near $11,950.

What changed on the 2015 Toyota Camry

Carvana (opens in a new tab) says the 2015 Camry stayed in the seventh generation but received a major mid-cycle refresh with nearly all-new exterior bodywork, a quieter cabin and substantial steering, brake, suspension and body updates, while the four-cylinder, V-6 and hybrid systems largely carried over. The new XSE is the most athletic version, with 18-inch wheels, heated leather and Ultrasuede seats and four-cylinder or V-6 power. Toyota Canada (opens in a new tab) lists a new 4.2-inch TFT color display in the instrument panel and redesigned headlamps with integrated front turn signals and LED daytime running lamps.

MotorTrend (opens in a new tab) adds a wireless charging system, a new hard-drive navigation system with a seven-inch touchscreen and a new premium audio system, and says the XSE has a sportier suspension, paddle shifters and more side bolstering. EPA rates the 2015 Camry at 25 to 40 mpg combined and $1,550 to $2,500 a year in fuel, and KBB lists 25/35 to 43/39 mpg city and highway.

Recalls and problems owners report

NHTSA lists one recall campaign for the 2015 Camry, 15V144000, in which a component of the electric power steering control unit may have been damaged during manufacturing, which over time may result in a loss of steering assist. Owners have filed 286 complaints with NHTSA: steering with 107, service brakes with 42, power train with 36, electrical system with 32, unknown or other with 30 and air bags with 25. The steering complaints are the largest group by a wide margin.
