Toyota vehicle research

The Toyota vehicle research desk indexes 21 current EPA model families for model years 2025–2027, totaling 94 certification records across 76 model/option labels. Current Toyota certification data spans Electricity, Hydrogen, Premium, Regular fuel types and 4-Wheel Drive, All-Wheel Drive, Front-Wheel Drive, Part-time 4-Wheel Drive, Rear-Wheel Drive drivetrains, with combined efficiency of 19–131 MPG/MPGe. The archive extends further back with 59 additional model-year records across 21 Toyota models. 22 dedicated model hubs break this down by nameplate, and each family page adds its own 12-answer decision desk covering configuration choice, ownership, maintenance and used buying. Every figure here traces back to its own EPA row or dated manufacturer source, never averaged across the make.

About the brand

About Toyota.

Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. It was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda and incorporated on August 28, 1937. Toyota is the largest automobile manufacturer in the world, producing about 10 million vehicles per year.

History
In 1924, Sakichi Toyoda invented the Toyoda Model G Automatic loom. The principle of jidoka, which means the machine stops itself when a problem occurs, later became a part of the Toyota Production System. Looms were built on a small production line.
Ownership
Toyota is headquartered in the city of Toyota, which was named Koromo until 1951, when it changed its name to match the automaker. Toyota City is located in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan. The main headquarters of Toyota is located in a four-story building that has been described as "modest".
Lineup
Toyota's founding money came from an unrelated industry: the sale of an automatic loom patent to a British company in 1929 funded Toyoda Automatic Loom Works' new automobile division, established in 1933 under Kiichiro Toyoda, the founder's son. The Japanese government's wartime priority on trucks pushed the company toward its first production vehicle, the G1 truck (1935), modeled on a period Ford truck and priced lower, before the company's first passenger car, the Model AA, followed in 1936. That production discipline evolved into the Toyota Production System, the just-in-time, waste-elimination manufacturing philosophy that became the template much of the global auto industry later copied under names like "lean manufacturing." Toyota's current lineup is organized by clear roles: the Corolla and Camry are its compact and midsize sedans, the RAV4, Highlander and Grand Highlander run compact to three-row SUVs, and the Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, Sequoia and Land Cruiser cover trucks and body-on-frame off-road SUVs. Toyota builds hybrid powertrains across nearly its entire lineup, more broadly than any other mainstream brand, and layers a dedicated bZ electric sub-line and a GR (Gazoo Racing) performance badge — seen on the GR Corolla, GR86 and GR Supra — on top of that structure, while Lexus serves as Toyota's separate luxury division.
Technology
Toyota is the world's leader in sales of hybrid electric vehicles, one of the largest companies to encourage the mass-market adoption of hybrid vehicles across the globe, and the first to commercially mass-produce and sell such vehicles, with the introduction of the XW10 Toyota Prius in 1997.
Environmental initiatives
Toyota states it is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, and it has set a goal to reduce its overall carbon emissions by 90% by 2050, compared to 2010 levels. The company has invested heavily in solar energy, with a goal to install solar panels on the rooftops of all its dealerships worldwide by 2050.
Controversies
In November 2016, Toyota agreed to pay $3.4 billion to settle allegations that roughly one-and-a-half million of its Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia pickup trucks and SUVs had been outfitted with frames prone to corrosion and perforation. According to court papers, the corrosion could reach levels high enough to compromise the vehicle's structural integrity.
