Bentley Continental GT

Car and Driver says the 2025 Bentley Continental GT has been fully revealed with the Speed model's plug-in-hybrid V8 powertrain producing 771 horsepower, and that it is now 21 years since the first Volkswagen-era Continental GT launched with a turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 making 552 horsepower to motivate 5,250 pounds of mass. It says the 2025 car, which Bentley describes as the fourth generation despite continuing to share much of its core structure with its predecessor, is heavier but mightier. MotorTrend says it hustled the all-wheel-drive Continental GT Speed to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, and that electrifying the Continental helps make it the most powerful Bentley ever.

Recent recalls (2 campaigns across the latest model years)

  • May 2026, Power Train:Axle Assembly:Axle Shaft. Bentley Motors, Inc. (Bentley) is recalling certain 2026 Continental GT and Continental GTC vehicles. The front axles may have been assembled with an incorrect shorter driveshaft, which can cause the hub securing nut to loosen over time. Consequence: A loose hub securing nut can cause vibration and a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
  • September 2025, Fuel System, Gasoline:Delivery:Fuel Pump. Bentley Motors, Inc. (Bentley) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Continental GTC, Continental GT, and 2025 Flying Spur vehicles. The bolted joint connection securing the high-pressure fuel pump to the V8 Evo engine may be improperly tightened and cause a fuel leak. Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Method: recall counts and their affected components come from the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation: Recalls API, queried by exact make, model and model year. Complaint counts come from the NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation: Complaints API, same query pattern. Data pulled 2026-09-04.

Known gap: the NHTSA complaints API did not return data for Bentley Continental GT model years 2017, 2018 when queried for this page: the request itself failed upstream, not returning a genuine zero. Those years are marked "not available" above instead of shown as clean; recall counts for those years are unaffected and come from the separate recalls API, which returned data for every year listed.

Q01Is there a best year to buy a Bentley Continental GT?

Federal recall records don't single out a best Bentley Continental GT model year: recall counts across the 2 published model years checked here stay within a normal range of this nameplate's own average (about n/a recalls per year), with no year standing out as notably higher or lower. Recall count is one input, not a purchase verdict. It says nothing about a specific vehicle's price, mileage, accident history or maintenance record.

Q02What are common recall-related problems on the Bentley Continental GT by model year?

2018: steering. 2017: steering.

Q03Why do some Bentley Continental GT model years show "not available" for complaints?

The NHTSA complaints API did not return data for Bentley Continental GT model years 2017, 2018 when queried for this page: the request itself failed upstream instead of the count genuinely being zero. Recall counts for those years are unaffected; they come from a separate NHTSA endpoint that returned data for every year listed.
