What changed on the 2024 Honda HR-V
Car and Driver (opens in a new tab) says that since the HR-V was redesigned for 2023, Honda made no changes for 2024, with front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic standard and all-wheel drive optional on all trims, and it finds the 2.0-liter four lethargic. Motor Illustrated (opens in a new tab) agrees the lineup gets no significant changes, and notes the 2023 redesign came with a noticeably higher price range.
Kelley Blue Book (opens in a new tab) lists ratings of 25/30 to 26/32 mpg, and its price page puts used 2024 HR-Vs at $22,600 for the LX up to $27,700 for the EX-L at a dealer.
Recalls and problems owners report
NHTSA lists four recall campaigns for the 2024 HR-V. 23V782000 covers front seat belt pretensioners that may be missing the rivet that secures the quick connector. 24V744000 covers a steering issue shared with the CR-V, Civic and Acura models. 24V859000 and 26V054000 cover a driver's seat cushion frame that may not have been tightened properly.

EPA rates the 2024 HR-V at 27 to 28 mpg combined and $2,250 to $2,300 a year in fuel. The Toyota Corolla Cross lists 30 to 42 at $1,500 to $2,100, the Mazda CX-30 25 to 29 at $2,150 to $2,500, the Hyundai Kona 26 to 118 including its electric version, and the Kia Seltos 26 to 31 at $2,000 to $2,400.
