Chevrolet vehicle research
The Chevrolet vehicle research desk indexes 12 current EPA model families for model years 2025–2027, totaling 72 certification records across 56 model/option labels. Current Chevrolet certification data spans Diesel, Electricity, Gasoline or E85, Premium, Regular fuel types and 4-Wheel Drive, All-Wheel Drive, Front-Wheel Drive, Rear-Wheel Drive drivetrains, with combined efficiency of 14–120 MPG/MPGe. The archive extends further back with 44 additional model-year records across 11 Chevrolet models. 15 dedicated model hubs break this down by nameplate, and each family page adds its own 12-answer decision desk covering configuration choice, ownership, maintenance and used buying. Every figure here traces back to its own EPA row or dated manufacturer source, never averaged across the make.

Method: each model’s average is computed from the same NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation: Recalls API model-year data shown on that model’s own hub, queried by exact make, model and model year. Data pulled 2026-09-04. Models with fewer than 3 published model years of recall data are excluded from this comparison.

Q01Which Chevrolet models have the most federal recalls?
Across the 10 Chevrolet nameplates checked here, recall rates stay within a normal range of each other (about 3.5 recalls per model-year on average), with no single model standing out as notably higher or lower. Recall count is one input, not a purchase verdict.

About the brand
About Chevrolet.
Chevrolet is an American automobile division of the manufacturer General Motors (GM). In North America, Chevrolet produces and sells a wide range of vehicles, from subcompact automobiles to medium-duty commercial trucks. Due to the prominence and name recognition of Chevrolet as one of General Motors' global marques, "Chevrolet" or its affectionate nickname Chevy is used at times as a synonym for General Motors or its products, one example being the GM LS1 engine, commonly known by the name or a variant thereof of its progenitor, the Chevrolet small-block engine.
- History
- On November 8, 1911, the Chevrolet Motor Car Company was incorporated. It was founded by Swiss race car driver and automotive engineer Louis Chevrolet with his brother Arthur Chevrolet, William C. Durant and investment partners William Little (maker of the Little automobile), former Buick owner James H.
- Lineup
- Chevrolet was incorporated in 1911 by Swiss race-car driver Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant, who had just been forced out of General Motors and used Chevrolet's reputation as a racer to build a rival company; Durant later used Chevrolet's success to buy his way back into control of GM. GM positions Chevrolet today as its mainstream, highest-volume brand, sitting below Buick and GMC and the luxury Cadillac division, though many vehicles share underlying platforms across those brands. The current lineup spans nearly every segment: full-size Silverado pickups and Suburban/Tahoe SUVs sit alongside the midsize Colorado pickup and Traverse and Blazer crossovers, while the Equinox and Trax cover the compact and subcompact SUV segments and the Malibu remains Chevrolet's sedan. The Camaro and Corvette carry the brand's performance identity, with the Corvette in particular built as a true mid-engine sports car since its 2020 redesign, competing directly with European exotics at a fraction of the price. Chevrolet has also built out an electric lineup including the Bolt, Equinox EV and Blazer EV, and the brand largely absorbed GM Daewoo's former lineup in South Korea after GM fully acquired that company in 2011, ending the separate Daewoo brand there.
- Marketing
- Earlier marketing efforts touted efficiency combined with savings – ("enormous buying power", 1914; "Quality at low cost", 1923, "A Six for the Price of a Four", 1929), interspersed with what could be described as "loftier" messages.
